ReceiptBox privacy policy
Last updated 7 October 2026. ReceiptBox is published by NexusLayer (hello@nexuslayer.eu).
What stays on your phone
Your receipts, their photos, categories, notes and exports are stored only on your device, in the app's private storage. Uninstalling the app deletes them. Exports are created only when you choose to share them.
What is sent to our server
- Receipt photos you choose to scan. The photo is sent over HTTPS to our server, passed to an AI model provider (OpenAI or Google, through our own router) to read the text, and then discarded. We do not store the photo or the extracted data.
- A random device ID created when you first open the app, used to count your monthly scans. It is not linked to your name, email or phone number.
- Your Google Play purchase token if you buy Pro, to verify the purchase with Google.
What we don't do
No advertising, no analytics SDKs, no tracking, no selling of data. We don't ask for your name or email.
Permissions
Camera: only when you take a photo of a receipt (through your camera app). Photos: only the images you pick.
Deleting data
Delete any receipt in the app, or uninstall the app to delete everything. To delete the device ID and scan counter on our server, email hello@nexuslayer.eu.
